Simulation conferences with CSO representatives
In the framework of the project, in each secondary school a conference with representatives of CSOs have been organized. The meetings were divided in two parts: an initial introduction to the specific issue and the simulation of a parliamentary activity, during which students, after an in-depth discussion, drafted a bill of rights, according to the experience of Model European Union.

In the final conference of the MODEL project the students worked as Human Rights Defenders. Divided in 3 groups and supported by 3 local activists, they elaborated the logo, the slogan and the manifesto of 3 different imaginary organizations involved in the fields of freedom of expression, Roma and minorities rights and LGBTI rights. These videos may be used by students and teachers as didactical material for further workshops and information meetings about human rights.

Model Human Rights Defenders - School
Mmmodel Human Rights Defenders at School (2016-2017) is a project funded by the Delegation of the European Union in Skopje. The project’s objective is fostering intercultural dialogue, non-discrimination and inclusion in the Macedonian education system as a strategic toll of promotion of human rights and democracy. Human rights, democratic participation, workers’ rights and rights of minorities are in fact considered interrelated issues in the Macedonian society and their systemic introduction in the education system is still an urgent need to build an intercultural and not just multicultural society.
Social exclusion and discrimination practices in the secondary school system
The research is proposed in the framework of the Project “Model Human Rights Defender@School Project” funded by the European Union Delegation to the former Yougoslav Repubblic of Macedonia – Grant Agreement n. NEAR-TS/2015/370-442 and promoted by CISS/Cooperazione Internazionale Sud Sud and the Centre for Development and Improvement of Public Life (CDIPL).
